The Owners Association has been offering a group Property and Casualty program for over 20 years. In 2006 the OA established a new working relationship with Gillingham & Associates (G&A). We are now proud to announce a new marketing partner to team up with Gillinghan and Associates to bring you a better program, improved benefits and exceptional service. Our new marketing partner is Glenn Sudol of the Outdoor Insurance Group. Glenn Sudol is the past president and owner of Gillingham & Associates which is now owned by Philadelphia Insurance Company. The program still offers members the flexibility of working with their own agent if they so choose

Gillingham & Associates, Inc.: G&A was founded in 1991 as a Managing General Agency based out of Steamboat Springs, CO. Recognizing a void in the marketplace for certain segments of the outdoor industry, G&A developed The Great Outdoors Insurance Program (GOIP). The first policy was written in April 1991 with Gulf Insurance Group acting as the carrier for the business.

The GOIP was originally designed with an emphasis on Outfitters & Guides general liability, but expanded into several different classes and lines of coverage, including RV Parks & Campgrounds, over time as opportunities presented themselves. Today, GOIP is considered the largest nationwide program for outdoor recreational risks.

Steady growth of the GOIP fueled the need for G&A to relocate to a metropolitan area where a larger talent pool existed for new staffing, and an international airport provided reliable transportation for business travel. In 1999 G&A moved to Westminster, CO, a suburb of Denver.

The April 2004 merger of Travelers and St. Paul signaled the end of Gulf’s independence (a subsidiary of Travelers), and G&A found itself in need of a new carrier. After entertaining several potential carriers, Arch Insurance Group was selected as the best partner to serve as the insurance company for the GOIP. G&A reached an agreement with Arch effective 1/01/05.

Today, G&A is owned by Philadelphia Insurance Company and is the largest single writer of outdoor recreational business, offering multi-line coverage to several industry classes on a nationwide basis. Underwriting remains the primary focus of G&A, with virtually all retail business handled by independent agents that represent the program.
