Veteran RVing Couple Launches New Podcast

February 2015 by RVBusiness

RV writers Russ and Tiña De Maris have rolled out a new Internet podcast aimed at recreational vehicle users. RVtravel.com reported that “Your RV Podcast” is a weekly, half-hour program that shines light on popular RV lifestyle topics.

The couple, who’ve been avid RV users since the early 1980s, are no strangers to the RV publishing industry. Since the late 1980s they’ve published work in such print publications as Trailer Life, Family Motor Coaching, and others, and have both written and edited in the electronic field, working for several years with RVtravel.com. Along the way they’ve enjoyed the snowbird lifestyle, eventually becoming full-time RVers for a few years, while publishing two books on RVing and teaching RV courses at community colleges.

“With our background as RVers, we’re working to bring a ‘variety show’ perspective to our listeners,” said Russ De Maris, who acts as the podcast show host. “We aim to keep it light, and at the same time, make it practical.”

Tiña De Maris, the podcast’s producer, adds, “We’ll have some regular departments on RV boondocking, RV-related tech, and of course, product reviews. And listeners will also find a variety in topics on our weekly feature pieces.”

The premier episode of Your RV Podcast debuted near the end of January, and the show’s second podcast rolled out in early February. Among other topics covered in the first two episodes included tips on keeping mice out of your RV, coping with wireless Internet connectivity issues on the road, and overcoming apprehensions about camping ‘off the grid,’ commonly called boondocking.

“We’re also asking our listeners to tell us what they want to hear,” said Russ De Maris. “We want the podcast to be just as it’s called, Your RV Podcast.”
